Natalie Thielen

Ph.D. Student (with Charlie Kuang lab)

I graduated in 2020 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Oregon State. My scientific interests then took me to San Diego, where I worked in the Sharpless lab at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) with Dr. Kitamura during his postdoctoral fellowship. After Scripps, I transitioned to the industry side at BioLegend, focusing on ancillary reagents crucial for immunotherapy development. Now, I'm a passionate first-year Ph.D. student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, enthusiastic about translational and novel discoveries for cancer treatments.

Rotation Ph.D. Student

Ever since college, science has been an exciting journey, and my personal experiences have given me even more motivation to succeed in research. Engaging in the academic curricula in a different language and moving to a country far away from home has provided me an enormous opportunity for growth and discovery of who I am and where I would like to see myself in the future. Currently, I am continuing that journey by pursuing a PhD at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
